United Wagon Company to deliver 1,494 hopper cars for mineral fertilisers to United Chemical Company Uralchem

Research and Production Corporation United Wagon Company and United Chemical Company Uralchem have signed a contract at the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum to supply 1,494 hopper cars for mineral fertilisers to Uralchem during 2022.

The 19-9835-01 hopper car possesses advanced technical and economic parameters. Fit to carry a wide range of mineral fertilizers owing to its increased load capacity of 76.7 t and a body volume of 101 m³, this hopper car can accommodate up to 6 t more of heavy cargoes, such as potassium fertilisers, than its widely available counterparts mounted on standard bogies. The economic effect generated by the freight car results in much lower transportation costs per ton of freight compared to those for its counterparts. Another competitive advantage of this model is longer maintenance intervals of 8 years or up to 1 million km against 2 years or 110 to 160 thousand km for its standard counterparts.
