United Wagon Company enters sustainable development ranking

United Wagon Company has been ranked on sustainable development among 100 Russia’s largest companies by the Expert multimedia group.

The Sustainable Development Ranking 100 scores companies across five core indicators. First, it shows the company’s financial strength which serves as a basis for implementing sustainable development programmes. The second column gives an assessment of corporate social policies, employee training opportunities and safety at work. An important indicator of the ranking is eco-friendliness, with points scored for implementing waste reduction or recycling programmes, and measures to boost energy efficiency. Finally, the companies are assessed for their contributions to the development of their operations areas and SME engagement, with a special focus given to implementation of urban environment programmes, social investment and charity projects. The ranking is based on data from the companies’ IFRS statements, annual reports and specialized surveys.

By the total score, UWC ranks on the same level as METRO Cash&Carry, Sodruzhestvo Group, Leroy Merlin East, TAIF-NK, Exxon Neftegas Limited, and other major companies.
