RAIL1520 lessor ranked among TOP 10 of Rail Russia TOP

RAIL1520 lessor has been recognized as one of the top 20 largest leasing companies in the railway industry sector according to 2011 results. The V Annual Rail Russia TOP ranking was compiled by INFOLine Information Agency who assessed the performance of 50 key players in the sector.

Established in 2011, in its first year of operation RAIL1520 ranked 6th by the quantity of freight cars leased to customers under the operational leasing agreements and 20th by the number of cars in ownership. This year the company has become one of the most active buyers of freight cars, increasing its assets to over 5 thousand units by mid-2012.

In the judgment of the agency experts, the company is well positioned to achieve the ranking in the top 5 of INFOLine Rail Russia TOP in the operational leasing segment by the end of 2012. The volume of new business already exceeded 10 bln roubles (USD 330 mln) in the first six months of 2012.

According to Dmitry Bovykin, Executive Director at United Wagon Company (the holding company of RAIL1520 Ltd), RAIL1520 has won contracts with major producers in the coal, chemicals, forestry and petroleum industries. “We have concluded a number of strategic cooperation agreements with both Russian and foreign clients, which will enable us to not only diversify our client and asset portfolios but reach a new level while solidifying our position in practically all market segments,” says Bovykin.
