30.10.2014 Mogilev Carriage Works has released the first batch of innovative cars for RPC UWC

In the terms of industrial cooperation with Research and Production Corporation “United Wagon Company” (RPC UWC), "Mogilev Carriage Works" (MCW, Belarus) has put into service the first batch of freight cars with improved technical and economic characteristics. This is the debut issue of new generation rolling stock built at the enterprises of the Eurasian Economic Union.

The delegations from the Ministry of Transport and Communications of the Republic of Belarus, the Belarusian Railway and "BelAZ-Holding" (MCW holding company) took part in the ceremony.

The first batch of 50 drop-bottom gondolas with unloading gates of 18-9853 modification equipped with Barber bogies with an axial load of 25 tf, has been sent to the transportation company Vostok1520 (belongs to the holding UWC) and will be utilized in the coal transportation from the Kuznetsk Basin. These freight cars have higher load capacity (up to 75 t), increased repair intervals and service lifetime.

Before the current year is out, MCW will supply another 150 units of rolling stock to RPC UWC. In 2015, based on the Belarussian plant production capacity up to 3,500 cars a year, RPC UWC is planning to arrange the sale of a considerable part of the output. It is to be recalled that the partnership agreement between MCW and RPC UWC was signed in November 2013. According to it, "Mogilev Carriage Works" organized freight cars assembly with Barber bogies. The Russian party provides the Belarussian partner with necessary components.

Valery Osipov, Director of “Mogilev Carriage Works", stated: "The output of the first cars with Barber bogies on production capacities of MCW is an extremely significant event for all of us. We are happy that our company is in the avant-garde of innovative car building not only in Belarus, but also throughout the whole "1520" space. We are sure that the changeover to the large-scale operation of the new generation cars will help to solve many problems in the industry and will be interesting for both rolling stock owners and for infrastructure owners".

Andrey Krivchenkov, executive director of "Trade House "United Wagon Company", said: "We are complimenting Mogilev Carriage Works on its industrial progress. When developing cooperation with leading enterprises of Russia and CIS countries, we impose high requirements on our partners’ staff training and to output quality. MCW is our reliable partner. We have an intention on expanding cooperation, as well by means of the product extension of manufactured product line-up".
