Science and Engineering Research Council at the United Wagon Company

Science and Engineering Research Council (SERC) was established at the United Wagon Company. The Council will be in charge of generation of basic lines for the company innovative activity development, scientific and technical policy for new generation rolling stock production, including heavy haul on the space of 1520 mm gauge.

UWC’s Science and Engineering Research Council has task to solve a wide range of issues, including determination of advanced and cost-effective rolling stock models to be produced at Tikhvin Freight Car Building Plant (managed by UWC), evaluation of modern design ideas and technological decisions, focused on major improvements of freight cars effectiveness and railways in the whole.

Besides, the Council will cooperate with scientific and science-engineering councils of external companies in particular for inter-branch problem solving.
